Seattle voters have spoken once again in support of social housing. Seattle needs permanently affordable, publicly owned mixed income housing. This is a win for the people who power our economy— like teachers, firefighters, and service workers— who are rent burdened and increasingly displaced from Seattle neighborhoods.
We look forward to quickly getting to work with the City of Seattle, the affordable housing sector and community stakeholders to lead the nation in building social housing and housing our neighbors. The passage of Proposition 1-A delivers new resources at a volume that can fund real and substantive change.
